The Nikkei was the only stock market of the major markets that had a positive week.
The FTSE closed at 6777 to be down 1.7% for the week. The Dax was down 1% this week with a close of 10573. The CAC closed the week at 4491.4 to slide 1.1%.
The Dow ended the week at 18085 to be down 2.2% for the week. The Nasdaq Composite Index ended the week at 5125.9 to lose 2.4%.
The Nikkei 225 closed the week at 16966 to be up 0.24%.
The best performing major currency was the Yen this week. The Dollar gained against the Sterling 0.28% for the week with a close of $1.3259. The Dollar lost ground to the Euro with a close of $1.1216 to be down 0.51%. The Dollar also fell against the Yen 1.3% for the week by closing at 102.9.
The Euro fell versus the Yen 0.74$ for the week by closing at 115.4. The Euro gained against the Sterling with a close of 1.1822 to be up 0.78%. The Euro also gained against CHF 0.15% for the week by closing at 1.0954.
Brent Crude rose 2.5% for the week by ending at $48.01 per barrel. Gold gained 0.48% for the week with a close of $1328 per ounce.
