4 June 2016 Market Review

Because of the weak US economic data, most of the major markets lost ground this past week.

The FTSE closed at 6209.6 for the week to be down 0.98%.  The Dax was down 1.8% last week with the close of 10103.  The CAC ended the week at 4421.8 to be down 2.1%.

The Dow closed the week at 17807 for a loss of 0.37%.  The Nasdaq Composite Index ended the week at 4942.8 to be up slightly at 0.18%.

The Nikkei 225 ended the week at 16642 to be down 1.2%.

May came to a virtual close this last Friday.  All the major markets ended in positive territory for the week.

The FTSE closed at 6270.8 to be up 1.9% for the week and 2.4% for the month of May.  The Dax was up 3.7% for the week and up a solid 4.2% for the month, by ending the week at 10286.  The CAC ended the week at 4514.7 to be up 3.7% for the week and 5% for May.

It was a mixed affair in the markets last week.  The FTSE closed the week at 6156.3 to be up 0.29%.  The Dax was down 0.37% for the week with a close of 9916.  The CAC ended the week at 4353.9 to be up 0.78%.

The Dow closed the week at 17501 to be down slightly at 0.19%.  The Nasdaq composite index ended the week at 4769.6 to be up 1.1%.

The Nikkei 225 closed the week out at 16736 to be up 2%.

All major markets were up last week except for the US.

The FTSE closed the week at 6138.5 to be up 0.21%.  The Dax was up 0.84% last week with a close of 9952.9.  The CAC ended the week at 4320 to be up 0.44%.

The Dow closed the week at 17535 to be down 1.2%.  The Nasdaq Composite Index closed the week at 471.7 to be down 0.39%.

The Nikkei 225 ended the week at 16412 to be up 1.9%.

Another bad week for the world’s major markets.  In Europe, the FTSE closed at 6125.7 to be down 1.9% for the week.  The Dax was down 1.7% for the week with the close of 9870.  The CAC also closed at 4301.2 to be down 2.9% for the week.

The Down close at 17741 to slide slightly at 0.18% for the week.  The Nasdaq Composite Index closed the week at 4736.2 with a loss of 0.82%.

The Nikkei 225 ended the week at 16107 to be down 3.4%.
